The first movie in the franchise, C.H.U.D., is not a zombie movie as it contains something more akin to monster mutants. Story-wise, C.H.U.D. 2 is not a continuation of the first movie and can be seen as a standalone movie.

Plot

A military project aimed at developing a new breed of super-soldiers goes horribly wrong, resulting in hordes of bloodthirsty zombies invading a quiet suburban community.

Faster than the traditional zombie and often poses a higher threat to the survivors.

Not true zombies, but share some or many traits of the traditional zombie.
