According to an insider Resident Evil 9 could be announced soon. The release date would be set for the second half of 2025. An industry insider called Lunatic Ignus has claimed that the teaser will be coming in the following weeks or months.
This would mean that the teaser could drop tomorrow at Sony Playstation's State of Play event September 24th, or Tokyo Game Show 2024 starting September 26th. It might even drop during the Game Awards on December 12th, though the two previously mentioned events seem more likely, as Resident Evil Village was announced during Sony's Future of Gaming event in 2020, and the Resident Evil 4 Remake was announced during one of Sony's State of Play in 2022.
We do know that Resident Evil 9 was planned to be revealed earlier this summer, but a last minute decision was made to postpone the reveal for some reason. So with three big events left, one which has already had two big Resident Evil reveals, and a rumored late 2025 release date, it seems likely the teaser is coming sooner rather than later.
