Paul W.S. Anderson, known for the Resident Evil Movies with Milla Jovovich, is writing and directing a new Sega adaptation of The House of the Dead.
Alongside Anderson, Jeremy Bolt of Impact Pictures, Dmitri M. Johnson, and Sega's Toru Nakahara, they aim to introduce Sega's cult classic to a new generation of potential fans.
The movie will be inspired by House of the Dead 3 (2002), and focus on Lisa Rogan, who fights her way through hordes of mutated creatures in a haunted research facility in order to rescue her father.
Jeremy Bolt describes the enemies as “fast and deadly," as opposed to the slower-moving ones in Resident Evil.
The production is expected to begin in mid-to-late 2025, with the production team preparing to pitch the project soon.
There are already two House of the Dead movies out there, House of the Dead (2003), and House of the Dead 2 (2006), where both received poor reviews. Let's hope Paul Anderson can bring it up a notch.
