Surprise surprise, in a report from Deadline, a sequel to Black Sheep is currently in development with the original director and writer Jonathan King. This time, King wrote the story with Matthew Grainger and Rosie Howells.
The sequel involves key members of the team from the original film; Nathan Meister, the lead actor, returns as Henry Oldfield. He will be joined by other, currently not revealed, actors from the first movie.
The special effects company Wētā Workshop (Avatar, Lord of the Rings, M3gan, Pearl) is also coming back for the sequel.
The plot is as follows: “Black Sheep 2 will follow a young scientist who is convinced that a dangerous new pathogen threatens the population and tracks it back to her hometown, which is located in the shadow of the remote sheep station where the events of the original Black Sheep unfolded.”
Black Sheep from 2006 became a cult classic and New Zealand's most successful horror movie ever.
